Development of Trade Partnerships

    1. Initial contact is usually established via international development organisations (for example, the German Agency for International Development), trade fairs, visits abroad, recommendations/personal contacts, or through the internet.
    2. The new potential partner must pass an auditing process. Contigo monitoring paperwork must be completed and, in some cases, further information will be obtained by phone or email. This data forms the basis of the new Partner pages in the Contigo Fair-trade Supply Chain.
    3. Both Contigo and the new trade partner sign the General Agreement for Socially Fair and Humane Trade in either German, English or Spanish.
    4. During mutual visits, updates for the Contigo Fair-trade Supply Chain are obtained and future trade partnerships and possible improvements are discussed.
