Founded in 1992
History
- 1992: founding of Marvelous Flotea in Tanzania (then as a women initiative)
- More than 200 producer groups are formed, all workers receive training (mainly women)
- Contigo meets Marvelous Flotea during an international trade fair

Structure of the busines
Number of employees:
- 35 employees (26 women and 9 men)
- 11 part-time employees during high season (3 women and 8 men)

Goals
- To promote textile craftsmanship in Dar es Salaam

Special features
- Marvelous Flotea is very supportive of women groups
- Fabric is imported from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The public is still suffering from the consequences of the war and desperately needs new markets for their products

- 2008: Winner for Women Entrepreneur – Handicraft and Textiles – Access Tanzania
