History

• 1992: founding of Marvelous Flotea in Tanzania (then as a women initiative)
• More than 200 producer groups are formed, all workers receive training (mainly women)
• Contigo meets Marvelous Flotea during an international trade fair

• To promote textile craftsmanship in Dar es Salaam

Special features

• Marvelous Flotea is very supportive of women groups
• Fabric is imported from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The public is still suffering from the consequences of the war and desperately needs new markets for their products
